RIBS (Real-time Interactive Basin Simulator) is a topography-based, rainfall-runoff model which can be used for real-time flood forecasting in midsize and large basins. Model use is especially attractive with distributed rainfall because the model maps the evolution of saturated areas over the basin as the storm progresses. RIBS can be run in deterministic or probabilistic mode.
